The deep desert landscape called me back a few days ago, this time with a rare addition: the 2016 Death Valley Super Bloom. Flowers don’t show up all that often in the normally dry, dead, desert landscape of Death Valley. But just like any desert, it has its surprises. Every so often the Super Bloom paints the desert with yellow, purple and white flowers, which perfectly coincides with the seasonal snow-capped mountains in the distance.
We spent time camping, off-roading, hiking the dunes and trails, and listening the majestic power of empty silence echoing throughout the valley.
Echo Canyon is a great spot for off-roading. The trail winds deep into the lonely hills of the desert, and very few venture out that far, making it an even deeper spot of solitude in the heart of the desert.

That FUSO is amazing! Great pictures and words.
Yeah, totally rad. The guy built it by hand. You should have seen him.
